Dana Duif
Docente Vinyasa Yoga
My name is Dana Raja and yoga is my great passion! My yoga path started when I was about 25 years old. I started practising just for relaxation and physical exercise. Yoga started to mean much more to me when I became mother of two wonderful sons. I experienced that yoga really supports me to stay balanced and happy while combining motherhood with my demanding job.
In 2021, yoga became my true lifeline. It was in that year that my beloved mom died after three years of serious illness. For three difficult years, I had been combining the care for my mother with my job and the care for my own family. My daily yoga practice and my weekly lessons were no longer enough to drag me out of my depression. In the summer of 2022, just before summer holidays, I heard a little voice inside me whispering: "Dana, make yoga your profession. The sun will then soon be shining in your heart again. "
I followed these whispers of my soul. First I became a kids yoga teacher by completing the teacher training at Dolfijn Wellness and I started to teach yoga to young kids. I felt so much better thanks to this that I really wanted to expand my knowledge and skills as a yoga teacher. So I embarked on two vinyasa teacher training sessions, one at the New Yoga School and the other at Thrive, both in Amsterdam. Simultaneously, I followed the virtues yoga teacher training at Dolfijn Wellness. In 2023 and 2024 I successfully completed these teacher training sessions. And indeed the sun started to shine in my heart again! I currently teach yoga to adults and elderly and to kids at two different primary schools.
What I love so deeply about yoga is that it is infinite. There is no end to learning and discovering. Also, it brings me into contact with so many wonderful people from all over the world and of all ages. It keeps me strong, balanced and connected to the world. Thanks to yoga, I have become a much more mild, grateful and easy going person. For these reasons, I can't imagine my life without yoga. In my class, you can expect meditation, philosophy and flowing asanas in a warm, loving and respectful atmosphere. Hope to see you in class!
